• The “Tre Salti” stream, with its fleeting beauty, becomes a canvas fon Marina’s (Martina Basilico’s) Bavarian daydreams. Meanwhile, Svaldo’s lens captures the hidden harmonies of this landscape, a subtle counterpoint to the characters’ tangled desires. A world of contrasts, where nature’s rhythms echo the dissonances of human longing.

  • Architect Uggiosi’s “flexible” interpretation of regulations echoes a bygon era. The author’s own experience with municipal bureaucracy, having joined Milan’s city administration post-“Mani Pulite”, lends a bittersweet tone. A nostalgic nod to a time of reckoning, and the blurred lines between pragmatism and principle.

  • Cappuccetto’s declaration of independence echoes the author’s own struggles with inherited clutter. Nonna Antonietta’s hoarding habits, a mix of thrift and sentiment, often clashed with the author’s desire for simplicity. A generational divide, perhaps, or just the chaos of love.

  • The beloved matriarch inspired this character. A woman of generous spirit, but questionable culinary skills. Her offerings, a mix of thrift and love, often raised eyebrows. Yet, her impact on our family is immeasurable. We wonder: who would we be without her? A question that warms the heart, despite the occasional digestive … adventure.

  • The tale’s genesis was a casual conversation with my sister Rosmunda (pseudonym), who asked for a party idea. I suggested telling a tale. Inspiration struck when I read Koyo Kouoh’s phrase:”don’t seek others’ castle, build your own house”. Memories of my sister’s illustrations of Little Red Riding Hood and a niece’s bunny-ears hat did the rest.
